Decree no. 2007-766 of May 10, 2007 implementing the Consumer Code with regard to materials and objects intended to come into contact with foodstuffs.
Presentation
In accordance with EC regulation n°1935/2004 (articles 1 to 5 and 15 to 17), and in application of the Consumer Code (article L214-1), French decree n°2007/766 completes or specifies the European regulatory provisions concerning materials and objects intended for contact with food by the following provisions:
- the repeal of decree n°92/631 of July 8, 1992 (apart from articles 4 and 5 which remain in force, notably the provisions concerning treatment by ionizing radiation, and the provisions for the evaluation of new substances by AFSSA),
- the maintenance of orders issued in application of articles n°1 to 9 of the decree of February 12, 1973 (see article 11 of decree n°92/631 of July 8, 1992).
