Regulation (EU) N° 284/2011 of 22/03/2011 laying down special conditions and detailed procedures for the import of polyamide and melamine plastic kitchenware originating in or consigned from China and Hong Kong (China)e

EC Regulation No. 284/2011, published on March 23, 2011, stipulates that each batch of melamine or polyamide cookware imported into the European Union must be accompanied by a written declaration of conformity and the results of primary aromatic amine and formaldehyde migration analyses.
Documentary checks are carried out on all batches, and laboratory analyses on 10% of imported batches to verify compliance with regulatory requirements.
These measures have been applicable since July 1, 2011.
