On May 05, 2025, the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) published a scientific opinion concluding that the substance N,N′-(2-(4-(2-aminobenzamido)butyl)pentane-1,5-diyl)bis(2-aminobenzamide) is safe for use in polyethylene terephthalate (PET) bottles to scavenge acetaldehyde for long-term storage of aqueous, acidic or low-alcohol beverages.
