EuPIA guide to printing inks applied to the non-food-contact side of food packaging (March 2016)
Presentation
The 2012 version of the EuPIA guide, revised in 2016 (version 4), presents the recommendations of the industry, represented by EuPIA (European Printing Ink Association), to ensure the safety of inks used with any material or object intended to come into contact with foodstuffs. It concerns printing inks, coatings and varnishes applied by an appropriate process to surfaces that do not come into direct contact with food.
EUPIA has also published an inventory list of substances used for inks intended for the non-food contact side.
