Compilation of lists of substances for non-plastic Food Contact Materials (ESCO)

This document contains 3000 substances used in the manufacture of non-plastic food contact materials, as provided by the national experts participating in the ESCO working group (Member States, Switzerland and Norway). The lists were compiled in Excel format by EFSA's Scientific Secretariat. The substances on these lists were divided into two groups, according to the date of evaluation. 320 substances were evaluated after the publication of the Scientific Committee of Food Guidelines for Food Contact Materials (1991). Seven separate lists of substances cover paper and board, printing inks, colorants, rubbers, silicones, coatings, cork and wood.
