Draft order on colorants (Notification No. 2004/328/F)

The provisions of this draft order are to apply to pigments and colorants used for coloring plastic materials and objects, varnishes and coatings brought or intended to be brought into contact with foodstuffs, products and beverages. They do not apply to inks used for printing materials and objects intended to come into contact with foodstuffs. The draft order includes a list of authorized mineral pigments and organic colorants (having undergone a full risk assessment) and a list of provisionally authorized mineral pigments and organic colorants requiring a risk reassessment.
